From Bill Von Ess (June 2004)
I had a band in 1967 but we never made it out of the basement. However, I still have a recording of us doing 5 songs. My band was called "The Days Light" but I'm sure that nobody would have heard of us as we never played out anywhere. The songs that I have a recording of are "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night", "Little Black Egg", "Steppin' Stone", "Louie, Louie" and "Wipeout". My band consisted of Pete Rayto on lead guitar, Mickey Fowler on Rhythm guitar and me Bill Van Ess on drums. We didn't have a bass player while I was in the group.

Read about your band on the Grandrapidsrocks site. If you still have recordings, I would LOVE to hear them. Please write back with more info.
Yes I have a tape of us doing 5 songs recorded September 1967. I transferred it to cassette about 25 years ago and hope to transfer the original tape to CD here shortly. Write me if interested.
Maybe you are no longer monitoring this thread, but if you are, I would very much like to get a copy of your recording of Louie Louie, preferably in mp3 format. Would this be possible?

In my previous request to obtain an mp3 of your version on Louie Louie, I omitted my email address. If you are still checking this message board, please contact me at:
Thanks so much,
